How to Place a Spot Trade on GroveX

Spot trading lets you buy or sell crypto for immediate settlement at the current market price or a price you set.

Before You Start

• Deposit funds: Ensure you have the asset you want to sell (e.g., BTC) or a quote asset like USDT to buy with.

• KYC: Crypto-to-crypto trading may not require KYC by default, but GroveX may request KYC at any time for security/compliance.

• Fees: Trading fee is typically 0.1% (see the latest at grovex.io/en_US/fee).

Quick Steps (Web & App)

1. Go to Trade

   • Open GroveX → Trade (Spot).

2. Choose a Pair

   • Use the search bar to find a pair (e.g., BTC/USDT).

   • Tap/click the pair to open its order panel and chart.

3. Select Order Type

   • Market Order: Executes immediately at the best available price.

   • Limit Order: You set a price; the order fills when the market reaches that price.

4. Enter Order Details

   • Buy or Sell

   • Amount (in base coin) or Total (in quote coin)

   • (Limit order only) Limit Price

5. Review & Confirm

   • Check estimated fee, total, and filled price (market) or limit price (limit).

   • Press Buy or Sell to place the order.

6. Track Your Order

   • Open Orders: Pending limit orders waiting for the price.

   • Order History / Trade History: Filled and partially filled orders.

   • Balances / Wallet: Updated after fills.

Order Types Explained

Market Order (Fastest Execution)

• Use when: You want instant execution.

• Note: Final price may differ slightly due to market movement (slippage).

Limit Order (Price Control)

• Use when: You want a specific price.

• Partial fills: Possible; remaining size stays open until filled or canceled.

• Good practice: Set realistic prices near the current market to improve fill probability.

Tips for Better Fills

• Check liquidity: Higher-liquidity pairs generally fill faster with tighter spreads.

• Avoid fat-finger errors: Double-check decimal places and size.

• Use % buttons: Quickly set 25/50/75/100% of your balance (if available).

Common Issues & Fixes

• “Insufficient Balance”

  • Confirm you selected the correct asset and network when depositing.

  • Reduce order size or transfer funds from other wallets (e.g., Funding → Spot).

• Limit Order Not Filling

  • Your limit price may be too far from current market.

  • Edit to a more competitive price or cancel and replace.

• Can’t Place Order

  • Update the app / refresh the web page.

  • Disable VPN, check connection.

  • Ensure the pair is live and not under maintenance.

• Deposit Shows $0

  • In Wallet, uncheck “Hide $0 Value Assets.”

  • If still missing, submit a ticket with UID, Token, TXID, Network.

• Compliance Hold

  • Complete any KYC prompts if requested to restore full functionality.
